“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” ― Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture
There’s nothing like a challenge or a deadline to get my creative juices flowing and help me to buckle down and make things happen.
Starting a week from today, I’ll be joining other writers/bloggers in an 80 day challenge. Next Monday, July 2nd, I’ll create a post declaring my goals and intentions for the Round of Words in 80 Days challenge.
I have a few specific goals related to writing and learning more about the craft, but the main reason I am joining ROW80 is to put down some major wordage on my work in progress.
Once the challenge begins, I’ll be checking in twice a week with updates on my progress, so stay tuned!
If you’re a writer or blogger looking for a manageable writing challenge, hop over to the ROW80 blog and check it out!
I’ll be doing it, too. Good luck!
John, good luck to you too! I’m glad to have met a fellow ROWer :-).
Best of luck on the challenge!
Those cherries look amazing, by the way. Nom, nom, nom. 😉
Thanks! Those cherries were awesome! 🙂
Like the cherries, love the Pausch quote.
I’m doing a double-dare this time so I’ve already started. The Clarion Write-a-thon started this past Sunday. I’m going to sync the goals for each for the first half of ROW80. Not sure yet what I’m going to do for the second half — that will depend on whether I’m on a roll with what I’m doing, or need a break from it.
Two writing challenges at the same time? My hat is off to you, Camille! Best of luck :-).
