About

My writing has appeared in St. Louis area food magazines Feast and Sauce, and The Riverfront Times, as well as the popular food website Tasting Table, and breaking restaurant news for What Now Media Group. I’ve even had a couple of my Tasting Table articles syndicated on MSN. You can read them here and here.

Although I now consider myself a food writer, it took me over a decade to get here.

Prior to writing for food publications, I was a community journalist, writing features on small businesses, eateries, and artists. For years, I simply viewed my passion for home cooking as a hobby that didn’t intersect with my love of writing.

Thank goodness I saw the light!

Food is such an essential part of our day: from growing, cooking, eating, and sharing stories about it–or in my case, all of the above–food not only fuels us, it also makes up a huge part of our lives. Since 2021 my writing career has shifted to focus on food, from dishing up the latest restaurant and food news, to interviewing chefs, business owners, and foodies.

My food-related interests include gardening, canning, and cooking from scratch, but I’m still mastering the science of baking bread. I love honing the homemaking and life skills that were commonplace in my grandma and great-grandma’s era, while sharing what I learn on my blog.
