Have you ever spent all or part of the day in the kitchen making holiday treats, only to have them go stale before the big celebration? Yeah, me too! In the past, I’ve carefully eyed the calendar and tried to plan my Christmas baking around it, with the hope that everything would stay fresh and tasty in time for family gatherings and parties.
We’re less than a week away from Christmas and this year, I chose to celebrate this magical time by making some holiday goodies without caring about the date on the calendar! About a week ago my sister and I spent some time in the kitchen making a few no-bake treats. We made classic oatmeal no bake cookies, some peanut butter fudge (not pictured), and some coconut chocolate thumbprint candies.
Of course, everything we made is delicious and we’re totally enjoying them in our house. Even though I made a half batch of everything, each recipe still yielded tons of treats. Since we have so much of the good stuff, I’m glad that everything will stay fresh and just as yummy as the first day I made them since I’m able to store everything in Rubbermaid’s TakeAlongs containers. They snap close and are air-tight, meaning they’re perfect for keeping everything inside fresh and flavorful.
If you’re looking for new containers for cookies (and leftovers throughout the year), give them a try. I’ve been very happy with how they’ve performed, not only with sweet treats, but post-Thanksgiving, I also kept almost 20 pounds of leftover turkey fresh in the fridge for days in the one gallon container (with the maroon lid).
*note: I received samples of the Rubbermaid containers to test out for this post. While I will share reviews of products on my blog from time to time, I’ll only recommend products I love and really use.
