Embracing my Inner Foodie with my Newest Freelance Opportunity, Feast Magazine

This summer I’ve been keeping busy with a new freelance opportunity writing pieces for Feast Magazine, a print and digital magazine that covers food culture in the Midwest. In both their online and print articles, Feast features beautiful photos and gives foodies, coffee lovers, and those who enjoy a craft beer or cocktail all the nitty-gritty on the must-visit establishments in the Kansas City region, Missouri, and southern Illinois areas.

I love writing about food and drink spots, and I’m super excited for the handful of articles that have been published with Feast so far, and what I have coming later this summer.

In early May, I wrote about Blue Heron Farm & Bakery, a husband and wife ran business duo in the Springfield, MO. area expanding from a booth at the local farmers market to a brick and mortar European style shop later this summer.

In June, I released a feature on St. Nicholas Brewing Co., a craft brewery and restaurant located in a refurbished historic hotel in downtown DuQuoin, IL. that focuses on pub-style food and beer made with regional ingredients.

Later that month, I wrote a round up about the craft beer scene in southern Illinois, with this article highlighting the six craft breweries you need to visit the next time you’re in southern Illinois.

Next up, I’ll tackle some places in historic St. Charles, including the best spots to grab a coffee and a feature on a unique 1940’s themed cocktail lounge.
