We spent the Thanksgiving holiday on the quiet Long Beach Peninsula on the southern coast of Washington state. It was the most “vacation-y” thing we’ve done since we went to Vancouver, BC in January.
While we were in the Long Beach area, we took an afternoon drive to Oysterville, a community that lies along the Willapa Bay. Oysterville is an incredibly quaint community on the National Historic Register that boasts an original one-room schoolhouse and plenty of historic homes.
It’s such a small community that we were able to walk the streets of Oysterville and it was so quiet and untouched that in many ways that it felt as though we’d stepped back in time. The last item on our walking tour of Oysterville was to Oysterville Sea Farms, a small seafood and grocery store right on the Bay. While we were there, we got a couple of items made from local ingredients like a marionberry pepper jelly.
