A Spring Day at Long Row Lavender

This past weekend, we took a drive to visit Long Row Lavender, a lovely flower farm located in a country setting in Wright City. Although it was too early to see (and smell) the lavender blooms, that didn’t stop us from spending about two hours walking the property and perusing the gift shop and cafe.

This family owned farm not only grows blooms and other delightful plants for your home or garden, there’s also a high tunnel onsite that contains edible items like greens and garlic that is used in the cafe. While I didn’t try any of the food in the cafe, (we packed a picnic and ate lunch at a park nearby after our visit), I did enjoy the iced honey vanilla latte I ordered.

In the gift shop, I gushed over numerous adorable items like a ceramic watering can, which I would’ve bought, but I’m a notorious dropper and my entire house has tiled flooring, so breakable items and me just aren’t compatible. There were also cute t-shirts, dish towels and books, along with loads of household goods and edible items, like lavender brownie mix and lavender seasonings used for cooking.

There were also lavender and other botanical infused body care items in the boutique shop, like soap and beard oil (which my hubby picked up and loves!). I selected a roll-on lavender oil that I’m using as a natural perfume.

Although there were additional things I’d love to buy and eat, that’s what trip number two will be for! Long Row Lavender definitely has more things I could see, do, eat, and sip on in just one visit and I’m looking forward to another trip out later this summer when the lavender is in season and the fields will be awash with the purple blooms.
