Azure Standard – An Alternative to Warehouse Clubs

One of the drawbacks to moving to a smaller area in 2022 is not being close to Costco. Although we were members of the warehouse club for over a decade, we’ve changed our lifestyle so much that it just wasn’t worth making the drive and continuing to pay the annual membership fee.

As a home cook and one who makes most things from scratch, especially bread now, getting items like flour without buying it in bulk has been pretty costly. I’m always looking for ways to keep our grocery budget manageable and earlier this year, I decided to give Azure Standard a try.

If you’ve never used them, or heard of the company, Azure Standard is an online retailer that offers organic, non-GMO items that can be purchased in bulk. Since there isn’t a brick and mortar store, there’s no membership fee to pay in order to shop with them.

Instead, you can place your order online and select one of two options: either have your order delivered to your front door, or save a little more money by choosing to pick up your order at a monthly “drop” location. The drop option is what I choose to do and it works pretty simply: I place my order, it gets fulfilled in their warehouse in Oregon, then loaded onto a truck, and I receive an email from my local drop coordinator with the expected date and time the truck will arrive at the drop location with my order.

It’s also really easy to find your closest drop location, you just put your zip code into the Azure Standard website and it will show you the closest drop location and next pick up date.
So far I’ve ordered bread and all-purpose flour for my breadmaking, as well as some pantry staples like sugar and vinegar. This month I decided to try Azure’s organic coffee and popcorn, pictured here, and I’m soooooo pleased with both.

The coffee is really smooth and I love making iced espresso drinks out of it, and my husband is obsessed with this popcorn! He’s told me I can never buy another brand 😀

I’m not affiliated with Azure in any way. I’ve just been pleased with their products and hope you’ve found this post helpful!
