Gather Up a Stack of Books to Prepare for Winter Reading

Even though fall just arrived, I’ve been working on gathering books on my to-be-read (TBR) list in preparation for winter since August. As a general rule, I don’t take much stock in long range weather predictions, but I have heard from numerous sources that most of the country is in for a whopper of a winter.

Although I have a Kindle and enjoy reading ebooks when I travel or am otherwise on the go, over the past few years I’ve become a real renaissance reader and crave the feel of an actual book in my hands. Last winter I really got into living hygge, for me one non-negotiable factor for cozy season is having a paper book to flip through.

This year I’m going to study up on more gardening secrets, by rereading a gardening book gifted to me for Christmas last year, reading Epic Tomatoes to decide which varieties I’ll grow over the summer of 2024, as well as some books on natural pest control.

When it comes to fiction, I plan on diving into classics (it seems each winter the classics always call to me) and the newest release from one of my favorite authors, Sandra Brown.

Given that I’m dishing up what I’m reading this fall and winter, I thought it would be a great time to let you know my novel A River Between Them is finally available in print!

Truth is, it’s been available in print for months now, but I actually forgot all about sharing those details with, well, anyone! Between freelancing, gardening, and preserving my harvest, the summer passed in a blur.

It wasn’t until I started to slow down and think about my cozy season reads that I even remembered that I’d gotten the print version of A River Between Them all squared away in the spring. If you’re interested in learning more, or getting your hands on a print copy, find it at Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

I’m always eager to talk about and discover new books, so feel free to share what you will read this cozy season in the comments or reach out to me on social media!
